Position Overview
The City of Kamloops is seeking an individual with excellent attention to detail and strong interpersonal skills to join our maintenance management and GIS team as a permanent, full-time Civic Operations GIS Technologist. The Civic Operations GIS Technologist supports the development, maintenance, and analysis of geographic information systems to assist in planning, operations, and decision-making across Civic Operations. This role is responsible for producing accurate spatial data, maps, and reports; maintaining GIS databases; and providing technical support to internal interest holders to ensure data integrity and effective use of GIS tools. The successful candidate must have the following qualifications:
- Completion of secondary school or its equivalent.
- Completion of a two-year diploma in GIS.
- Minimum two years’ previous experience in municipal GIS experience (ArcGIS).
- Eligible for certification as a Technologist or a Technician with the Applied Science Technologists and Technicians of British Columbia.
For new hires, and for those working in designated positions of trust, including those working directly with vulnerable persons, no formal offer of employment will be made until an applicant completes a police information check. A comprehensive benefits package is included with this position. This is a CUPE local 900 position.

$47.942 (2025)
