Rideau Transit Maintenance (RTM) is a General Partnership formed by ACS Infrastructure Canada, Atkins Réalis, and EllisDon. RTM has been awarded a long-term contract to maintain the City of Ottawa’s Confederation Line. RTM is now seeking a Procurement Coordinator who will report to RTM’s Commercial and Legal Manager.
All RTM positions will be instrumental in ensuring the reliable supply of trains and maintenance services on the Confederation Line. Procurement Coordinator
The Procurement Coordinator will be required to roll up their sleeves in order to implement and execute procurement strategies for the successful operations and maintenance of Confederation Line LRT Stage 1 and Stage 2 Extension.
Responsibilities:
· Meet with department heads and managers to understand and support the needs of the business.
· Prepare and Issue RFx (e.g. RFIs, RFPs, RFQs, etc.), Purchase Orders.
· Subcontractor oversight if necessary.
· Develop and maintain a vendor base to generate and sustain a competitive advantage.
· Leverage vendors and negotiate terms to reduce costs.
· Responsible for the documentation of all purchasing activities, specifically all purchase orders, ensuring compliance with RTM policies.
· Manage daily follow-ups on outstanding material and service deliveries, proactively resolving delays and ensuring all tracking data is accurately maintained.
· Work closely and collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
· Manage all inventory, stock levels and spare parts.
· Perform other related duties as required.
Experience and Education Requirements:
· Post-secondary education, preferably business administration, supply chain management, commerce, project co-ordination or similar field (a combination of work experience and education may be taken into consideration).
· Minimum of 2 years of relevant Canadian experience in a procurement or contract administration role.
· Related contractual/legal as well as general project and management related training.
Experience with drafting and negotiation contracts, commercial terms and conditions and an understanding of accompanying legal implications.
· Excellent written and oral English communications.
· Excellent understanding of procurement processes which include both materials and contracts management and corporate governance principles.
· Experience and understanding of contracting and purchasing strategies.
· Experience within the construction or rail sector would be considered an asset.
