The District of Kent, located in the picturesque Eastern Fraser Valley, is offering several exciting opportunities in our Recreation, Culture & Projects Department.
With the upcoming Grand Opening (September 2026) of the Lets’Emot Regional Recreation and Aquatic Centre (LRRAC), we are looking to assemble a dynamic team to deliver exceptional services to our region.
This amazing new facility expands our existing recreation centre and features an 8-lane pool, lazy river, steam room, sauna, and hot tub.
We are seeking several positive, energetic, self-motivated, and team-oriented Part Time Lifeguard / Instructors to join us.
Reporting to the Aquatic Coordinator, you will be responsible for working with other aquatic team members according to the policies, procedures and practices set out for the Lets’emot Regional Recreation and Aquatic Centre (LRRAC). This includes, but not limited to, accident prevention and response; aquatic safety promotion; swim lesson instruction andadministration; facility maintenance; general office administration; customer service; and shift supervision.
Required qualifications:
- Minimum of one (1) year of aquatic related experience.
- Current National Lifeguard (NL) - Pool Option.
- Standard First Aid Certificate (or equivalent).
- CPR Level (C) Award.
- Lifesaving Swim Instructor Certificate.
- Lifesaving Society Instructor Certificate (Preferred).
- Pool Operator - Level 1 (preferred).
Pay and benefits for this bargaining unit position will be in accordance with the Collective Agreement, CUPE Local 458.The proposed 2025 post-probationary wage rate for this new position is $28.11/hour. This part-time position may also include extended health benefits and participation in the Municipal Pension Plan (MPP), in accordance with the policies of the benefits provider and the MPP.
