Role Overview
We are seeking a technically strong, consultant-focused Regional Sales Manager to drive specification and sales of our hydronic radiant floor heating and snow melt systems.
This high-impact role centers on building strong, technical relationships with mechanical consultants and engineers to influence design and secure specifications for Klimatrol solutions. You will also work closely with mechanical contractors to close projects, ensure smooth handovers to project managers, and resolve any technical issues that arise during execution.
Acting as a trusted technical advisor, you will combine deep hydronic expertise with consultative selling to grow our specification footprint and win projects across Canada. The role reports to the Area General Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Consultant Engagement & Specification Development
- Proactively build and maintain relationships with mechanical consultants and engineers across key markets.
- Collaborate on hydronic system designs for radiant floor heating and snow melt applications, providing expert technical guidance and engineered solutions.
- Review mechanical plans, perform detailed drawing take-offs, interpret specifications, and support consultants with AutoCAD-based recommendations and documentation.
- Prepare accurate, compelling sales quotations, proposals, and technical submittals that help win specifications and projects.
Sales Execution & Project Closure
- Partner with mechanical contractors to present Klimatrol solutions, demonstrate technical advantages, and successfully close projects.
- Manage the full sales cycle from initial consultant engagement through bidding, negotiation, and order closure.
- Ensure seamless project handovers to internal project managers with complete documentation and technical details.
Technical Support & Issue Resolution
- Provide ongoing technical support during construction, including occasional site visits and coordination with installation teams.
- Quickly resolve technical issues that arise to maintain customer satisfaction and project success.
- Collaborate with engineering, service, and project teams to incorporate field feedback and drive product improvements.
- Perform commissioning work site visits when needed to support the team.
Relationship Building & Business Development
- Identify and pursue new opportunities with mechanical consultants and contractors in commercial, industrial, residential, and institutional sectors.
- Deliver technical presentations and training to consultants and contractors to strengthen partnerships and specification rates.
- Maintain organized project records and CRM documentation for accurate forecasting and follow-up.
Qualifications
Required Experience
- 5+ years in technical sales, applications engineering, or a similar role in the HVAC/hydronics industry.
- Proven success working directly with mechanical consultants on system design and specification, combined with contractor sales and project execution experience.
- Strong technical foundation in hydronic radiant floor heating and snow melt systems.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD for reviewing and interpreting mechanical drawings; experience with Bluebeam or similar takeoff tools is highly valued.
- Solid understanding of hydronic system design, controls, and energy-efficient solutions.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (advanced Excel skills are an asset).

Preferred Qualifications
- Technical degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Building Systems, or related field (or equivalent hands-on experience).
- Construction/project experience in engineering, estimating, or commissioning.
- Direct experience with hydronic snow melt or radiant in-floor heating systems an asset.
- Valid Ontario driver’s license and willingness to travel to client offices and job sites as needed.
