We are seeking friendly, energetic and reliable staff to join our team as Ball Hockey Referees for the New Westminster Ball Hockey League. This sought-after league is known for its commitment to ensuring fair play and upholding a competitive spirit in a community recreation setting. The successful candidate will work at the Queen’s Park Sportsplex Facility. In this position you will play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of the league with the following responsibilities:
Expectations:
- Officiate ball hockey games in accordance with league rules and regulations.
- Ensure a fair and enjoyable experience for all participants.
- Communicate effectively with players and league organizers.
- Assist with the setup and takedown of equipment.
- Provide feedback to players to promote sportsmanship and skill development.
- To establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff.
- To exercise sound judgment in stressful situations with minimal supervision.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a ball hockey referee.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to make quick sound decisions and maintain composure under pressure.
- Passion for ball hockey and promoting a positive sports environment.
- The successful candidate will be available to work Friday evenings and Sunday day.
- Ability to pass and maintain a clear Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector.
