Job Details:
• Full-time
• Days shift - 6 days a week
• $17.60 per hour, No overtime
Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Harvest fruits/vegetables using hand tools
- Sort, weigh and pack fruit/vegetables at the farm
- Operate and maintain farm equipment and machinery
- Crop work including; deleafing, stringing, lowering, pruning
- Monitor plants problems such as diseases, weeds, insect pests and report to supervisor.
- Inspect product prior to packaging, and ensure that quality specifications are meet on the final product
- Follow procedures to report any incidents at work
- Report quality or crop issues to labour supervisor
- Follow all company policies
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Understand and follow information presented through spoken words and sentences by supervisor
• Communicate any issues or concerns to supervisor
• No education required
Physical Abilities:
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
- Must be able to bend, stretch, twist or reach with body, arms and/or legs
- Must be physically fit and able to lift heavy material (i.e. up to 23 kg/50 lbs.)
- Work in a changing temperature environment
