The Public Safety Department is seeking to hire a regular full-time Clerk – Court Documentation position for the RCMP Detachment. You will be responsible for transcribing police interviews of witnesses, suspects and victims from audio/video recordings. You will process, review and prepare various operational and administrative reports and documents, including court and legal documents such as subpoenas, summonses and law enforcement notices. Administers departmental SharePoint content by maintaining document libraries, lists, directories, web parts and operational resources, ensuring information remains accurate, current and accessible. Additionally, you will compose, edit and proofread routine correspondence and memoranda, and ensure consistency with the formatting of reports, tables, forms and other related material. You will also enter, amend and retrieve operational records in various police databases and liaise with various internal and external contacts.
The position requires exemplary spelling and punctuation and an excellent command of verbal and written English. You must have the ability to type a minimum of 60 wpm and be proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite. Transcription and related clerical experience are required. A background in Office Administration or Legal Administration would be considered an asset. You will be required to obtain and maintain an RCMP security clearance as a condition of ongoing employment.
Shortlisted candidates may be required to complete standardized tests or exercises to demonstrate their applicable skills and knowledge.
Salary:
$31.58 to $37.09 per hour
(Pay Grade 15 - January 2026 rates)
Hours of Work:
Any consecutive 7 hours between 5:30 am – 5:00 pm Monday to Friday, exclusive of meal breaks (35 hour week). The City of North Vancouver currently works on a compressed work schedule, with one scheduled day off each three-week scheduling cycle.
