The incumbent will:
- Develop and implement client activation programs
- Carry out individual therapeutic programs as per the direction of the Occupational Therapist and Physiotherapist
- Participate in care planning, evaluation and documentation
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Be able to work occasional evenings and weekends as required
The successful applicant will possess:
- A Certificate in Activation Techniques in Gerontology or
equivalent combination of education and experience - Previous experience in a long term care environment is preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of and compliance with safe work practices
- Proven communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to follow both oral and written instructions
- A demonstrated ability to provide high-quality service with consideration for equity and accessibility
- Physical ability to perform the essential duties of the job
Hours of Work:Successful candidates must be available to work a variety of shifts, including 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.. Part-time employees may be required to work every other weekend based on operational needs. In addition, both full-time and part-time employees must be available to accept occasional call-in shifts as required. Work schedules are prepared and posted six weeks in advance and are based on the operational requirements of the home. As such, schedules may be adjusted as needed to meet service demands. Please note that schedules are not created around another employer's work schedule, individual availability, or personal preferences. Candidates must be able to meet the scheduling requirements of the position.
