As a Business Strategist, you will produce reports, business plans, and projects plans. You will also design and deliver strategic reports that address organizational and community needs. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering and managing a diverse range of high-profile projects that often result in recommending changes to sets of rules or approaches to service delivery.
Primary duties include:
- Lead cross-corporate project teams to deliver new initiatives or advance Council priorities.
- Conduct research and analysis to assess data, identify service and enforcement gaps, and develop bylaw amendments and policy recommendations for an audience of senior City management and committees of Council.
- Manage knowledge-based projects from initiation to delivery, often culminating in presentations and reports to senior management and Council.
- Develop policies, guidelines, and recommendations to improve the efficiency, effectiveness and scope of City services.
- Build and maintain relationships and represent the team at internal and external committee meetings, including frequent meeting facilitation and chairing.
Qualifications
- A degree in Business, Public Administration, Planning, Political Science, Law or a related field with at least 5 years of related experience in policy development, project management, and/or strategic planning.
- An understanding of municipal governance and legislative processes with experience in a variety of activities including strategic coordination of policies, process design, business planning and budgeting, development of strategies, and/or executive communication.
- Well-developed research, analytical and problem-solving skills and political acumen.
- Strong communication and facilitation skills with the ability to influence others and build consensus.

Compensation: Pay Grade 14 $53.52 - 71.53 per hour
Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week
Days of work: This position works a 5-day work week with 1 day off in a 3 week cycle.
