The Opportunity:
We are looking for a Director of Digital Content & Community to join our Marketing team. In this role, you will blend strategic thinking with being a day-to-day brand champion. You’ll lead organic Social Media, the Influencer and Creator team and content as a whole, telling a holistic brand story across all owned channels. Working closely with the Creative Services Team and SMM, you will conceptualize social-first content for evergreen brand moments and each product and promotional campaign ensuring they are on brand, innovative and fresh. You’ll grow our brand awareness and play a key role in driving JENNY BIRD’s campaign & content strategy and rollout forward. You will report to me and work closely with the Social Media Manager, Social Media and Marketing Coordinator, Influencer Marketing Specialist, Editorial and Partnership Directors, and the Creative Services Team.

Responsibilities:
- Own and build the organic social storytelling and influencer marketing strategy to align with JENNY BIRD’s marketing plans, campaigns and launches alongside key stakeholders
- Determine upcoming content needs, gaps in storytelling and reviewing the data alongside the content to help shape the stories we’re telling on social
- Develop, where possible, omni-channel approaches to content to achieve growth objectives and targets for collection launches, promotional strategies, and overall brand awareness
- Oversee the success of our organic social channels, with a primary focus on Instagram and TikTok
- Ensure a cohesive relationship between Influencers and our Social Media platforms, leveraging assets and content for effective storytelling
- Oversee and direct the influencer marketing strategy, including influencer selection, special unboxings, events, affiliate conversions, and overall relationship management including those with ShopMy and LTK
- Collaborate closely with the Editorial Director and Creative Services to build briefs for each brand campaign launch
- Support and conceptualize on paid social campaign creative
- Meet regularly with other directors (Editorial, Retention, Partnerships, E-commerce) to ensure brand consistency across all owned channels and align on brand plans
- Stay informed on inventory availability and upcoming product launches by working closely with the operations team
- Leverage consumer, market, cultural, and competitive insights to drive brand strategies forward
- Hire, onboard and train the Social Media Manager and Social Media & Marketing Coordinator roles
- Provide daily leadership and guidance to the Social Media Manager, Influencer Marketing Specialist and Social Media & Marketing Coordinator, ensuring alignment with overall brand goals and strategies

What you bring to the table:
- 5+ years of experience in brand marketing, especially as it relates to social media and influencer marketing
- Experience with a Direct-to-Consumer (DtC) growth company with revenue exceeding $20 million
- Proficiency in managing and creating content for all major social platforms, including Instagram & TikTok (Pinterest and YouTube a bonus)
- Proven track record in developing global go-to-market strategies
- Hands-on experience with data platforms such as Google Analytics, LTK, ShopMy, Shopify
- Proven experience managing and leading a team, with the ability to mentor and develop team members
Location:
We have flexible working arrangements for the team. This role requires you to be in the office (East Room located at 507 King East, Toronto, Ontario) 3 days a week - preferably Monday, Tuesday + Thursday.
