About The Position
This is a temporary part-time support staff Bargaining Unit position, reporting to the Associate Dean, School of Business & Sustainability Leadership at an hourly rate of $34.77
Lambton College of Applied Arts & Technology invites applications from qualified and passionate subject matter experts to design, with an option to later teach part-time, a Sustainability and UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) course.
This project would require work to be done over the course of several months and usually can be done in the evenings or on weekends while continuing with your current full-time job. All meetings and training can be conducted virtually.
Training will be provided, and standard templates will be used.

Specific Accountabilities
Course Development:
- Design and develop a comprehensive foundational course on Sustainable Business Leadership tailored for business students.
- Integrate the UN SDGs and their implications for business, leadership, and global development into the curriculum.
- Create detailed course materials, including lectures, readings, case studies, multimedia resources, and assignments.
- Develop experiential learning activities to provide students with real-world applications of sustainability concepts.
- Design assessments, rubrics, and evaluation criteria to measure student progress and learning outcomes.
- Prepare a detailed course outline and set clear course learning objectives and outcomes.
Leadership And Collaboration
- Develop and present a workshop and training materials to help the faculty team enhance their ability to incorporate SDGs into their curricula
Continuous Improvement
- Collaborate with academic staff to ensure the course aligns with the broader business curriculum and institutional goals.
Qualifications
Education:
- Master’s degree or PhD in Sustainable Development, Sustainable Business, Environmental Science, International Development, or a related field
Experience
- Proven experience in course development, instructional design, and teaching at the post-secondary level
- Expertise in the UN SDGs and their implications in the business context
- Experience creating experiential learning activities and assessments
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams
Skills
- Strong knowledge of sustainability principles, UN PRME, Global Compact and the UN SDGs, especially their relevance to business
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create clear, engaging course materials
- Leadership and collaboration skills
- Ability to inspire and engage students with diverse learning styles
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously
