Summary
This position shall have the overall responsibilities of the accounts payable and receivable, development and maintenance of payable files and general accounting to ensure transactions are processed in a timely manner and records are accurate. The accountant will collaborate with the Controller. Other responsibilities will include monthly project claim invoice preparation, assist with month-end entries and reporting. This role requires high attention to detail and high ethical standards.

Job Duties
- Monthly project claim invoice preparation
- Assist the Controller with month-end entries and reporting
- CAM properties accounting
- Prepare and record monthly recurring transactions
- New employee orientation for payroll and group benefits
- Monthly remittances for Group Insurance and Pension Plan
- Review invoices coding before posting by the accounting clerk
- Help the Controller to prepare year end file for external accountant
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Requirements
- College or University diploma in accounting and/or background in accounting or bookkeeping
- 3 – 5 years as accountant / bookkeeper
- Advanced level of knowledge in Excel
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
- Highly organized with great attention to detail
- Excellent computer skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced/multi-task environment
- Must have the ability to efficiently work independently as well as part of a team as required
- Strong work ethic
- English/French bilingual considered an asset
- Construction industry experience considered an asset
Work Conditions

- Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals
- Overtime as required
- Lifting or moving up to 10lbs may be required
