Responsibilities
- Develop and execute Risk Reduction Strategies in concert with the Corporate Safety team and ICP sites that drive our Safety Culture forward
- Execute initiatives to reduce risk across Irving Consumer Products
- Lead and support all HS&E Specialists who are either direct or indirect reports with respect to safety systems and programs
- Drive accountability and consistency regarding safety system standards (KES) across sites and companies responsible.
- Ensure risk reduction plans and activities are completed across all sites
- Drive risk reduction across all sites to eliminate critical, high and serious risks
- Drive initiatives to ensure the Irving values around Health, Safety, and Environment are instilled in all employees and that safety culture is strong as part of our safety management system
- Perform site tours to ensure the safety management system and risk reduction is a priority at all sites and being driven by site management and supervision. Work with sites and corporate team to execute yearly audits to identify opportunities
- Ensure safety system (Intelex) is effectively used, and corrective actions are addressed in a timely manner
- Monthly reporting of KPI’s and Monthly Updates on initiatives and progress to plan
- Ensure regulatory compliance in operations with respect to our safety systems and programs
Qualifications
- Post Secondary Education, CET, or equivalent. Engineering preferred
- 5+ years in a leadership role
- 10+ in the manufacturing industry
- CRSP, CHSC, CHSE, or equivalent and/or 5 years’ experience in Safety Leadership Role
