Position Summary:
ErinoakKids is currently seeking a talented and dynamic individual to fill the permanent full-time role of Digital Health Specialist at our Mississauga location. Reporting to the Supervisor, Digital Health, the Digital Health Specialist will support the implementation of an organizational-wide digital health strategy that will integrate, standardize and enhance digital practices and technologies. This role will be responsible for working in collaboration with other program leaders and teams to identify and create digital health solutions that meet the required clinical and performance objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drives the completion of initiatives that are part of the Digital Health Strategy
- Creates and maintains a catalog of digital health strategies and technology systems used across the organization;
- Understands and acts as the subject-matter expert for all digital health technologies;
- Serves as a primary contact for the assessment, development and implementation of new digital health solutions;
- Supports the day-to-day operations of digital and technology solutions and ensures a consistent and standardized approach is followed;
- Creates and maintains training manuals, process flows, documentation, live demos and provides implementation training for all digital and technology solutions for required staff and end users;
- Identifies, coordinates, and maintains end user access requirements and MS365 groups/structures;
- Prepares and maintains digital health documentation, including process mapping, for new and existing technology solutions;
- Participates in the Digital Health Helpdesk:
- Leverages first level problem solving techniques to analyze and troubleshoot end user issues and/or issues related to the digital and technology solutions;
- Resolves requests and provides timely follow up with users;
- Provides on-going education to users when updates to the digital health platforms occur;
- Interacts with vendors and external service providers to provide ongoing support to end users and facilitate timely resolution of any issues;
- Works closely with other teams including Decision Support, Meditech, and HBKR Information Systems;
- Engages with ErinoakKids’ Privacy Officer as required and is well versed in the Personal
- Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA);
- Stays up-to-date on Canada’s digital health initiatives and Ontario's Digital First for
- Health strategy;
- Participates in interdepartmental meetings
Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree from an accredited college or university in health or technology related field or equivalent education and experience;
- Minimum of 2 years work experience as an Information Systems Specialist, Applications Specialist, Health Informatics, Decision Support or IT professional working with clinical information systems or digital health solutions;
- Previous experience in this role preferred;
- Experience leading complex, multi-team projects from requirements gathering, to development, to implementation;
- Experience engaging with various stakeholders throughout the lifecycle of a project;
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems and identify sound and reasonable solutions;
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and lead day-to-day activities;
- Experience with process mapping and creating standardized process flows;
- Ability and willingness to learn and understand existing and new digital health technologies a requirement;
- Proficient computer knowledge, including Microsoft 365, is required
- Ability to use Adult education concepts for planning and delivering training sessions for staff and end users at all levels;
- Knowledge and experience building and maintaining business relationships
- Ability to multi-task effectively, prioritize workload and meet deadlines
- Results-oriented individual with experience working under tight deadlines in a high-pressure working environment
- Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills;
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment, while developing and maintaining effective working relationships with others
