We are seeking the ideal candidate for the role of Business Systems Analyst for Enterprise Resource Planning and Electronic Data Interchange.A Business Systems Analyst (BSA) specializing in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) plays a critical role at SureWerx by bridging the gap between business needs and technology solutions. They possess strong business acumen with technical expertise and thrive in an environment that operates at pace. This is a hybrid role with two days in the office and the ideal candidate can work from any of our offices in Coquitlam, BC, Edmonton, AB or Guelph, ON.
Responsibilities
- ERP System Configuration: Configure and customize ERP software to meet specific business requirements. This may involve making changes to modules, workflows, and data structures.
- Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their ERP-related needs and gather detailed requirements. A deep understanding of business processes and the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions and SOPs.
- Issue Resolution: Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues and system defects related to the ERP system. Experience with the help desk Ticketing system JIRA or similar.
- Data Analysis and Mapping: Analyze data and perform data mapping to ensure smooth data migration and integration between systems.
- Electronic Data Interchange (EDI): Provide support, maintenance, and drive successful onboarding practices.
- Vendor Interaction: Communicate with ERP software vendors to understand product capabilities, updates, and to resolve technical issues. Support relationships with ERP vendors.
- System Testing: Develop test plans, conduct system testing, and coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure the ERP system meets business requirements and functions correctly.
- Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including functional specifications, system design, and process flows.
- Training: Train end-users and provide support during the ERP implementation and post-implementation phases.
- Change Management: Assist in managing the change process associated with ERP implementations, ensuring smooth transitions and user adoption.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and system enhancements to optimize ERP functionality.
- Project plan: assists in project planning and project scope sessions to ensure compliance to the project charter and implementation plan.
Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field is typically required. A master's degree or relevant certifications can be advantageous.
- Proven experience (typically 2-5 years) as a Business Systems Analyst, with strong knowledge of ERP systems, such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms, including understanding of ERP modules like Finance, Operations, WMS, Supply Chain, and Distribution.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and address system issues effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and vendors.
- Proficiency in relevant programming languages, database management especially Unidata databases, EDI, and tools for ERP customization and configuration.
- Ability to create and maintain detailed documentation for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Collaborative and adaptable, able to work effectively within a team and adapt to changing business needs.
- Strong problem-solving skills to identify and address system issues effectively.
