Your career is an investment that grows over time!
Wealthsimple is on a mission to help everyone achieve financial freedom by reimagining what it means to manage your money. Using smart technology, we take financial services that are often confusing, opaque and expensive and make them transparent and low-cost for everyone. We’re the largest fintech company in Canada, with over 4 million users who trust us with more than $50 billion in assets.
Our teams ship often and make an impact with groundbreaking ideas. We're looking for talented people who keep it simple and value collaboration and humility as we continue to create inclusive and high-performing teams where people can be inspired to do their best work.
About The Role
Reporting to the Senior Director of HR Services you will be responsible for leading our Workplace Operations team. You will own end to end management of all of our office spaces, including facilities and real estate management, while also building out programming to ensure the employee in-office experience continues to scale and hit the mark. You are highly adaptable and looking to make your mark on both the way that we work and the spaces we use to work.
In This Role You Will Have The Opportunity To
- Be a strong voice and critical leader, driving every aspect of the Workplace Operations function, letting the Wealthsimple vision and culture be the guide
- Design, shape and drive key strategic workplace initiatives that support: design and operationalization of Wealthsimple’s future of work strategy covering our real estate portfolio, programming and tooling to facilitate async and in-person work and engagement, as well as ownership of Wealthsimple’s travel program
- Continuously evolve our best practices based on data driven metrics so we can scale effectively, while maintaining our culture and creating an environment for people to do their best work
- Managing real estate transactions across the full life cycle of Wealthsimple’s real estate portfolio, including facilities management, lease negotiations, renewals, and office set up and decommissions
- Manage vendor selection processes; ensure quality and budget management and also source and run RFP processes for new vendor relationships
- Ongoing budget management for all operational spend (food and beverage program, maintenance / facility streams, events etc.)
- Optimization of our corporate real estate and facilities portfolio to enhance employee productivity and engagement, and optimize costs to enable scalability and growth. Support continuous improvement and introduce modern best practices to our people strategies to better engage and enable our people and teams.
- Inspire, teach and lead a talented team to enable co-creation of innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of the business
Skills We're Looking For
- Has substantial relevant experience (at least 10 years) in workplace operations and real estate management, ideally in a fast growing tech environment
- Has demonstrated strength in cross-functional stakeholder management and the ability to work with different business functions (Finance, Legal and other)
- Has experience managing all aspects of a corporate real estate and facilities portfolio with office spaces in Canada and the United States
- Direct people management experience and has broader experience building a strong team and set of people practices
- Doesn't believe in one-size-fits-all solutions or sticking with the tried and true. You've seen it all and can advise on what does and doesn't work, but create custom solutions tailored around your understanding of our unique team
