Job Description
This is a 4-month work term from May 2025 to August 2025.
We are currently seeking a Photography Student to join J.D. Irving’s Corporate Communications team to support its Moncton-based companies communications activities.
The selected candidate will work within the Communications team and collaborate closely with individuals across multiple businesses to meet photography needs.
The ideal candidate for this role is familiar with a variety of media formats including various video file types, and Adobe documents in Photoshop and Illustrator. Experience with a DSLR camera is required.
Responsibilities
- In conjunction with the communications team, create, produce, and edit dynamic digital assets for web, social channels, ads, publications and customer and employee presentations.
- Create photo content for various websites and social media platforms including product shots, portraits, and editing raw images.
- Operate cameras and other assistive devices to capture content suitable for assigned topics, including camera positioning, assembling equipment, addressing lighting and audio needs, placement of props, etc.
- Apply appropriate edits and graphics as necessary.
- Prepare and schedule locations, equipment, product, and people, for photographing, and filming.
- Creatively utilize different photography methods/techniques.
Other duties/projects as assigned. May require some work on evenings and/or weekends
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education toward photography, design, or digital media.
- Familiarity with graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite).
- Proficiency in photography.
- Proficiency using video editing Adobe Premiere is an asset.
- Experience taking professional photos including portraits, candid, and products/equipment.
