Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Material Handler to join our team in Parksville, Canada. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the flow of materials within our warehouse, ensuring accurate inventory control, and supporting our logistics operations.
- Receive, unload, and process incoming materials and shipments
- Pick, pack, and prepare outgoing orders for shipment
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently
- Maintain accurate inventory records and perform regular stock counts
- Organize and maintain a clean, safe warehouse environment
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely order fulfillment and customer satisfaction
- Assist in loading and unloading delivery vehicles
- Identify and report any discrepancies or damages in inventory
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures in the warehouse
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance warehouse efficiency
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year of warehouse or material handling experience
- Proficiency in operating forklifts and other material handling equipment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy items (up to 50 lbs) regularly
- Basic math skills for inventory calculations
- Proficient computer skills for using inventory management systems
- Effective verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Safety-conscious mindset and commitment to following warehouse safety protocols
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and workload
- Valid driver's license may be required for occasional local deliveries
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with warehouse management software
- Knowledge of inventory control best practices
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles
- Certification in forklift operation or other relevant material handling equipment
Additional Information
Salary Range: $40-50000 base plus benefits and year end profit sharing
