SUMMARY OF THE POSITION
Reporting to the Assistant DPSQA-Psycho-Social, the incumbent oversees the daily implementation and supervision of the quality of the services and interventions provided in the implementation of the regional helpline. They also support the local on-call psychosocial services on territory. The Coordinator will also contribute to the line management leadership, planning, organization, coordination and reporting of the staff helping in implementing the different aspects of recognition, training, research, mentorship and evaluation. In collaboration with others and according to the Cree Board of Health and Social Services of James Bay's (CBHSSJB) clientele approach.
SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS
1. Ensures the service planning and organization for the implementation of the Wiichiihiwaauwin Helpline.
2. Ensures that the programs and services provided under their responsibilities are based on respect and autonomy of individuals.
3. Contributes to the accessibility, continuity and complementarities of the planning and mentorship for regional helpline on-call staff and local on-call teams.
4. Ensures the circulation, application and compliance of the different policies, privacy and rights, code of ethics and confidentiality, and that they are complementary to those of the organization.
5. Contributes to the planning and evaluation, and ensures the organization, coordination, implementation, control, support and reporting of social activities:
- Contributes to the planning for the Regional Helpline and related professional practice and standards and its programs and services design;
- Ensures the coordination, supervision and control of the policies for the supervision of clinical activities of the organization's Psycho-Social staff;
- Contributes to the need's analysis and planning leadership of specific human resources management and development activities that impact professional standards, through a collaborative process with the respective professional related management and the Human Resources Department;
- Carries out the function through a collaborative network of various managers in areas intersecting those of the incumbent, and especially for integrated and harmonized quality assurance, professional standards and supervision planning;
- Ensures a collaborative planning and programming of on-call is in direct vision with the management of the Community Miyupimaatisiiun Centres (CMC) and regional services.
6. Ensures support to the current first line local on-call psychosocial staff.
7. Ensures the operational level line management access, leadership, planning, organization, coordination, implementation, supervision, and reporting for all the interventions, services and programs of the local and regional on-call emergency services.
8. Ensures the holistic approach in supporting staff in the best practice to support in recognition of skills and competencies in line with standards of quality, standards of the professional practice, and the implementation of the Quality Assurance Program.
9. Develop support tools, resulting in program manuals and management guidelines that support a quality assurance system for the regional helpline that will directly impact local on-call services
10. Collaborates on the development of an effective system for record keeping and the maintenance of various records.
11. Collaborates on the development of clinical and management information systems.
12. Ensures the efficient people and financial management of the Unit.
13. Represents the CBHSSJB with internal and external partners (e.g., Union, Band Councils, Cree Nation Government, MSSS, professional orders and other Health Establishment), when requested by the immediate supervisor.
14. Contributes and aligns to the accomplishment of the mission, values & strategic regional plan of the CBHSSJB.
15. Contributes to an annual formative evaluation, statistics and reports of helpline projects implementation and the formulation of lessons
REQUIREMENTS
Education and experience Bachelor's degree in social work, Psychology, sociology (or related field); Certificate or courses in administration being an asset; Two to three (2-3) years of experience in service/program planning, management or supervision in a multidisciplinary team setting.
Knowledge and Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of the MSSS social practice, programs, laws, regulations, RUIS Network, orientations and trends, including Community Health & Social Service Centers (CISSS & CIUSSS), hospital services, rehabilitation, mental health and dependencies, and public health;
- Strong knowledge of social services related theory, practice, current issues and trends, and program planning, professional standards and acts, clinical supervision, including the development of policies and program manuals;
- Strong knowledge of the strategic planning of programs, integrated programming, multidisciplinary team design, professional and organizational interdependence, information management and evaluation;
- Ability to provide professional leadership to line management and staff;
- Good record in an appropriate level of professional services or programming line management or leadership, and; human, financial, and information resources management is an asset;
- Knowledge of, or ability to grasp the issues and context that relate to First Nation professional services programming;
- Knowledge of Nishiiyuu Miyupimaatisiiun (traditional healing and helping practices) is an asset;
- Ability to apply Eeyou (Cree) culture, values, traditions and teachings into programs and services;
- Knowledge of Cree culture, communities and language is an asset;
- Excellent critical thinking, decision-making, planning and organizational skills as applied to professional practice planning and implementation;

LANGUAGE Fluent in English; Fluency in Cree and French is an asset.
OTHER Includes on-call periods; Willing to travel and participate in required training.
