The Collège communautaire du Nouveau-Brunswick (CCNB) Réseau CCNB-INNOV, is looking for a qualified person to fill a position of Researcher in Eco-Design of Products and Marketing of Sustainable Products, CCNB-INNOV. CCNB-lnnov is the Centre of Applied Research of CCNB, which stimulates innovation in the bioeconomy, advanced materials and advanced manufacturing through research, technical assistance, technology transfer and support to businesses and communities.
JOB DESCRIPTION: Under the supervision of INNOV Management, the incumbent of this position has field experience that allows him to support companies in eco-design and sustainable innovation management. The person sought also has a mandate to monitor leading practices, develop and deliver training to groups of company executives and intervene with companies for the implementation of good practices. The main tasks will include:
- Business development for INNOV's new service in eco-design and commercialization of sustainable products and services, including digital tools for innovation.
- Structure the new service offering in eco-product design and sustainable products marketing for INNOV's new product development institute.
- Produce scientific data for decision makers and business development of the centre.
- Make funding requests and accountability to funders for each project and for the overall project.
- Follow up with customers and analyse their needs to design strategies for the development and marketing of their products.
- Plan and supervise eco-design projects and commercialization of sustainable products and services.
- Represent this area of expertise for INNOV in conferences and other public performances.
- Support companies in all stages of the innovation cycle, from ideation to marketing, by integrating design approaches that focus on sustainability and consumer expectations.
- Support companies in integrating eco-design principles into their product development processes.
- Diagnose current business practices and identify opportunities for more sustainable solutions.
- Produce/follow rigorous scientific methodology/research protocols/devices and analytical methods, and produce tools, methods, processes and strategies to reduce the environmental impact of products from design through end-of-life.
- Use advanced data analysis and innovation management tools to support strategic business decision-making.
- Ensure strategic monitoring of leading practices and sustainable innovation.
- Design and facilitate training on eco-design and product launch for executives and teams of client companies
- Collaborate with companies to create prototypes of products that are sustainable and adapted to market expectations.
- Help companies integrate environmental criteria into their development specifications and strategies.
- Advise on environmental certifications and standards for eco-friendly products.
- Participate in events, workshops and conferences to promote eco-design principles and strengthen relationships with partners.
QUALIFICATIONS: The person must have at least a master's degree in engineering, industrial design or environment, and have a 5-year professional experience with ideally a mix between the private sector and research and development in the field of business experience in product development projects, of eco-design and innovation management applied to manufacturing industry and/or start ups. Environmental knowledge and expertise are prerequisites for the position.

Must be a Canadian resident or hold a valid work permit in New Brunswick.
Other important skills: Strong interest in innovation and sustainable development. Knowledge of life cycle analysis and circular economy principles. Ability to lead professional groups. Knowledge of marketing. In-depth knowledge of consumer behaviour trends, sustainable product marketing and branding. Interpersonal skills and teamwork skills. Excellent quality of spoken and written French, functional English. Have a valid driver's licence and motor vehicle, as business travel will be required. Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite is required. Good attendance and performance record.

Conditions Of Employment

Status: Full-time term position, starting as soon as possible and ending on March 31, 2028, with the possibility of renewal
Salary: Salary Range 08 - Management and Non-Unionized Staff (from 108 030 $ to 121 680 $ annually, depending on experience).
