The Demand Planner will be responsible for the reliability and accuracy of demand forecast projections and will strive to improve product availability and minimize surplus inventory DOI (days of inventory) at Wolseley branches in line with objectives.
This is a hybrid work model that requires 2 days per week in office in Burlington.

What you will do:
- Builds and promotes collaborative relationships with key stakeholders within Sales, Operations, Sourcing, Category Management and all Supply Chain Functions with the purpose of improving interactions to drive forecast quality and accuracy.
- Analyzes historical demand data using analytical tools such as Microsoft Excel, Access, and Slim4, to determine future forecasts in collaboration with key stakeholders within the Planning department.
- Effectively uses SLIM4 reporting and system functionalities to enable an exception based forecast management approach.
- Implementation of the necessary actions to minimize the impact from deviations in demand consumption vs projected forecasts.
- Continuously strives to identify areas for improvement and applies best practices to develop sustainable solutions to improve forecast reliability.
- Actively engages and promotes continuous improvement of current and future forecasting process.
- Prepare and facilitate monthly consensus meetings with the Category and Purchasing teams.
- Analyze KPI (MAPE, Forecast Accuracy, BIAS) and proactively implement solutions to improve performance.
- Prepare monthly data for S&OP with recommendations and assumptions.
- Improve availability while minimizing the risk of surplus inventory DOI.
What you will bring:
- Post-Secondary education in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or Operations Management.
- A minimum of two (2) years related experience in demand/inventory planning role
- CSCMP (Certified Supply Chain Management Professional) Certification is an asset
- Working knowledge of Slim4 and Syntax is an asset
- Distribution/Supply chain experience is an asset
- Strong knowledge of forecasting techniques and ERP – MRP systems
- Strong facilitation and decision-making skills
- Proficiency using a variety of Microsoft Office applications including: Excel, Outlook & Access
- Working knowledge of purchasing, warehouse and inventory control policies, processes and procedures is an asset
- Strong analytical skills and strong communication skills
- Ability to adapt to change and strong self-awareness
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Bilingual in both French and English would be an asset
