The Opportunity
The City of St. John’s Tourism, Culture & Business Growth division is currently seeking a motivated, enthusiastic, and energetic individual to work in our Visitor Information Centre for our Summer Tourism Season.
Accountabilities
The Tourism Information Officer must be comfortable assisting staff with the selection of attractions, accommodations, events, etc. for visitors, and maintaining display shelves with up-to-date tourism brochures and information.

Qualifications
- Knowledge of the St. John’s tourism product
- Excellent communication skills
- Work with the public in a professional manner
- Work independently
- Conversational French considered an asset
Other Requirements
- Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Criminal Record Screening Certificate (or equivalent) – Dated not more than six months prior to hire
Additional Qualifications (Provided Free For Successful Candidates If Required)
- Standard First Aid
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (CPR level C)
Hours of Work
Up to 40 hours per week.
Period of Employment: June 24 - August 29, 2025.
Must be available to attend mandatory training June 10. Some training may be offered virtually, evenings and/or weekends.
Rate of pay effective April 1, 2025
