This role requires full time on site presence.
Your role
We are currently looking for an experienced Reporter to work permanent part time on the weekend shifts.
More specific duties are as follows:
- Generate story ideas for news items, reports, interviews and in-depth features.
- Ensure that your journalism complies with CBC/Radio-Canada’s Journalistic Standards and Practices.
- Produce copy, video, audio, and photos.
- Have sound knowledge of the various multimedia formats and best practices.
- Produce multiple versions of your story for CBC/Radio-Canada’s various platforms as needed.
We are looking for a candidate with the following:
- Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent.
- Skills
- Strong knowledge of news and current-events.
- Excellent writing skills.
- Understanding of CBC/Radio-Canada’s Journalistic Standards and Practices.
- Proficiency with digital formats.
- Proficiency with content management tools.
- Knowledge of audio, video recording and editing functions.
- Knowledge of audience data.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Advanced oral proficiency, intermediate writing proficiency and advanced reading proficiency in English.
- Strong desire to live and promote the values of diversity and an inclusive and respectful work culture.
