Environmental Science
Richmond or Abbotsford (Hybrid), BC
Pinchin is seeking a motivated individual to join our Environmental Science (ENS) team as a Biologist based in either our Abbotsford or Richmond offices (hybrid position between office, home and field).
The Biologist will report to the Operations Manager and contribute to the growth and success of the group. The successful candidate will be expected to perform field tasks collaboratively and independently; prepare proposals; track time spent and stay on budget and schedule; be responsible for field data collection quality; write simple reports and assist with portions of complex reports; and assist with strategic business and group process development.
A Day in the life of a Biologist at Pinchin:
- Field crew for fish and aquatic and/or wildlife related assessments
- Assist with fish and wildlife salvage projects
- Assist with fish, wildlife and ecological restoration projects
- Report writing and compilation to support environmental monitoring, ecological assessments, proposals, permitting and restoration prescriptions
- Communicating openly and professionally with our team and with our clients
- Prioritizing and multitasking in a fast-paced environment, balancing the urgency of completing reports with other project deadlines
What You Bring To The Pinchin Team
- Degree or diploma in Biological, Forestry, Natural Resource Management, or Fisheries Sciences or a related discipline
- 2 years+ of work experience, ideally related
- Registration or eligibility to register as a member in the College of Applied Biologists or Applied Science Technologists and Technicians of British Columbia, or similar
- Ability to work in Canada with a valid Class 5 or equivalent Canadian driver’s license
