What we are looking for:
- Responsible for complying with company purchasing and operational policies, as provided by company policy.
- Reviews product margins, service levels, obsolescence and inventory turns. Compares them to established objectives and takes steps to ensure appropriate measures are taken to correct unsatisfactory results.
- Conducts research and questions vendors about the availability of purchasing terms, discounts and promotional programs.
- Ensures, through negotiation with vendors, that the company is receiving the maximum available allowances, rebates and any other offers of value.
- Reviews vendor proposals and negotiates contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority.
- Conducts vendor reviews relating to costs, delivery, product quality or performance.
- Prepares purchase orders and manages any related contracts.
- Excessive inventories and takes action to dispose of same while maintaining a vigil to minimize such excesses.
- Constantly seeks out cost reduction opportunities.
Experience and qualifications we are looking for:
- BA in Business or related field ideal.
- 5 years of related experience in capital spend.
- CPG (manufacturing) experience required.
