Applied Research Professional, Advanced Manufacturing and Mechatronics (Term Full-Time)

POSITION TYPE: Full-Time, Term Position Available (anticipated April 1, 2025 up to March 31, 2026)
SALARY: $68,556 - $96,644 per annum
POSITION LOCATION: Notre Dame Campus (Winnipeg, MB)

DUTIES
The Applied Research Professional is responsible for: leading the design, development and implementation of applied research projects; conducting project management/administration functions in conjunction with the Research Chair; engaging in outreach/liaison activities with industry partners and others; participating in business development activities; and supporting the analysis and reporting of research results and the dissemination of results and technology transfer to industry partners. The incumbent will conduct research and apply Artificial Intelligence, Data Science and Machine Learning to Advanced Manufacturing and Mechatronics, and design, develop and implement research projects.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering, related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
- Experience in designing and applying artificial intelligence, data science or machine learning algorithms/concepts to manufacturing problems
- Experience in performing and/or leading research and experimental development activities in an academic/applied research setting
- Demonstrated project management skills
- Knowledge of intellectual property
- Demonstrated experience in developing research proposals and applying for research grants
- Excellent organizational, analytical, research and creative skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and networking skills
- Must have demonstrated skills in the development and management of effective data collection and reporting systems and processes
- Demonstrated research dissemination planning and delivery skills
- Effective computer skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with a wide variety of constituents and organizations
- Must have the ability to act and represent the College in a professional, collegial, collaborative and entrepreneurial manner
- Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning and continuous improvement
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of and application of research methodologies in Advanced Manufacturing and Mechatronics as well as required tools, technologies, and infrastructure to carry out research
- Business development skills in applied research context
