Job Summary
Visit Mississauga has a co-op opportunity to further develop your career in the field of tourism, sales and hospitality. Reporting to the Manager of Tourism, and as a key member of the Visit Mississauga team, you will provide assistance in sales and event services.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible to assist sales team and manager with day-to-day duties
- Provide content for applicable presentation packages (sales support, bid documents)
- Assist with familiarization (FAM) tours and site visits for clients
- Support client servicing and sponsorship deliverables as requested by the Sport Tourism and Business Events Coordinators
- May be required to attend/participate in industry sales events
- Order, organize and track promotional items
- Special project support as required
- Evenings/Weekends may be required
- May perform analysis work to identify trends and provide continuous improvement in area of work and conduct research on relevant issues using a variety of research methodologies and consolidate information.
- May support the development and implementation of sales programs, and may assist in the preparation of informative materials for use by internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide customer service, responding to emails and telephone inquiries
- Responsibilities include:

- Data entry, admin duties, research, filing
- Other duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications
- Currently enrolled at University in Business Administration, Tourism and Hospitality, Event Management, or related field
- Knowledge and understanding of tourism & hospitality industry including the role of DMO (Destination Marketing Organization)
- Knowledge of all job-related regulations
- Customer Service skills
- Light lifting of supplies
- Exposure to computer screens
- Hybrid work environment
- Work effectively in a team setting as well as independently
- The ability to act as liaison between internal and external clients
- Proven ability to deal effectively with confidential matters
- Experience with various software applications including: CRM, Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Excellent problem solving and customer service skills
- Ability to pay attention to details; be organized and set priorities
- Excellent research and analytical skills
Hourly Rate/Salary: 19.80 - 23.53
