Position Summary:
The Senior Manager, Enterprise Compliance will be responsible for managing various aspects of IGM’s Enterprise Compliance programs.
Reporting to the Director, Enterprise Compliance, the Senior Manager, Enterprise Compliance is responsible for the management and execution of the privacy program, and supporting other Enterprise Compliance programs as needed, including unclaimed property, CASL and/or code of conduct.
The Senior Manager, Enterprise Compliance provides support and guidance business units in respect of regulatory and policy requirements and updates.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain strong expertise in federal and provincial privacy regulations and best practices, providing guidance to business units as needed.
- Proactively monitor, analyze and respond to privacy and other regulatory changes and industry developments impacting IGM’s business units.
- Maintain and update Enterprise Compliance frameworks, policies and procedures, with a primary focus on privacy.
- Manage and perform complex privacy impact assessments (PIAs), and provide expert guidance to business units, and Enterprise Compliance team members in respect of PIAs.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to support the development common policies, practices and approaches, where applicable.
- Drive and support continuous improvement of Enterprise Compliance programs, proactively identifying and responding to regulatory and operational risks.
- Manage and lead the resolution priority privacy matters and other regulatory inquiries from the business units, ensuring timely and effective solutions.
- Oversee the preparation of monthly and quarterly reporting and presentation materials used for internal oversight and board committees.
- Develop and review training and communications to keep business stakeholders informed on privacy and other regulatory and policy matters as needed.
- Represent Enterprise Compliance as a subject matter expert on cross-functional projects initiated by stakeholders across the organization.
- Consult and liaise with regulators, industry groups and external parties as required.
- Support the Director, Enterprise Compliance on various matters and collaborate with and support other Enterprise Compliance team members to effectively execute on key functions.
Experience/Skills/Education:
- Post-secondary education in a relevant discipline or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 6-8 years of financial services or mutual fund experience, most recently in a compliance, or related role, with privacy experience preferred.
- Knowledge of federal and provincial privacy regulations, CASL, and securities legislation and/or CIRO rules.
- Completion of Canadian Securities Course (CSC) or Canadian Investment Funds Course (IFIC) or comparable course preferred.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively to individuals at all levels within the organization, as well as legal counsel, auditors and regulators.
- Strong research, analytical, and critical thinking skills, with attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to respond to multiple demands and prioritize work activities within required deadlines.
- Ability to work independently with little supervision or guidance.
- Proficiency with Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Bilingualism in English and French is an asset.
