Role Description
This is a part-time role for a Quality Assurance Manager, located in Sackville NB, with some work-from-home flexibility. The Quality Assurance Manager will be responsible for:
- overseeing quality control processes and managing the current quality assurance program for the Lunenburg facility
- enhancing the quality management system to maintain compliance with BRCGS regulatory standards
- ensuring records kept by production staff are complete and accurate
- transitioning our team from a paper-based system to a computer-based system
- completing customer questionnaires relating to our food quality programs
- reviewing product labels to ensure compliance with regulations
- staying abreast of CFIA and BRCGS regulatory changes and pro-actively ensuring Terra Beata is compliant
- organizing quarterly meetings of the management team focusing on quality goals
- conducting annual training for all production staff as well as food safety training for any new staff as required
- conducting internal audits in concert with our Quality Assurance Specialist, who is based in Lunenburg NS
- hosting and representing Terra Beata during all customer, regulatory and third-party audits
Qualifications
- Experience in Quality Assurance
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards
- Knowledge of CFIA and BRCGS Standards
- Certification in HACCP. Experience in GFSI system management
- Experience in successfully preparing for and representing a food company during an external audit
- Experience creating corrective action plans
- Attention to detail and strong analytical skills
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience in the food processing industry
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Quality Management, or related field
