Human Resources Advisor - (Full Time, Maternity Leave Coverage)
Association Services - combination of in branch and remote work
Salary: $47,829.00/year to $59,786.00/year
Start Date: Immediately
This contract will be 12 - 18 months.

What qualifications are we looking for?
At YMCA Calgary we strive to ensure our employees are a fit based on their strengths, interests, and future goals. The successful candidate will have the following;
· Post-Secondary degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business, Organization Development or equivalent
· 1-2 years of experience in employee relations or generalist HR roles
· Considerable knowledge of principles and practices of human resource administration
· Strong understanding of Alberta Employment Standards and Alberta Human Rights legislation
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to provide guidance and resolve conflicts effectively.
· High level of interpersonal skills and integrity; solid team player.
· Ability to influence and establish and maintain collaborative partnerships and provide thought leadership.
· Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
· Working towards CPHR designation will be considered an asset.
· Evidence of a cleared security clearance including vulnerable sector search

What does this role look like at YMCA Calgary?
The Human Resources Advisor will:
· Assist and advise Association branch managers, directors, supervisors and employees with human resource issues and questions
· Build strong relationships and act as a trusted partner
· Investigate employee relations issues as they arise and provide recommendations to resolve
· Assist in conducting workplace investigations related to employee concerns, misconduct, or policy violations, ensuring fairness and compliance.
· Write, revise, edit, and interpret human resources policies and procedures and related documents as needed and ensure compliance.
· Assist with development and implementation of performance evaluations
· Deliver the employee survey process throughout the Association
· Make recommendations on salaries and salary increases in keeping with the YMCA Compensation Policy
· Assist in the development and delivery of HR programs related to employee engagement, retention, and well-being.
· Collaborate with leadership to foster a positive workplace culture by proactively addressing employee concerns.
· Prepare reports and maintain accurate documentation related to employee relations cases and HR initiatives.
· Participate in HR projects and initiatives, including training, policy development, and process improvements.
