Assistant Controller

Are you a detail-oriented accounting professional with a strong sense of integrity and a problem-solving mindset? On behalf of Atlantic Windows, we are recruiting an Assistant Controller to join their team in Port Elgin, New Brunswick.

Key responsibilities:
- Providing leadership, training, and development to the accounting team.
- Assisting with month-end financial statement roll-up and analysis.
- Supporting annual budget preparation.
- Maintaining accounts receivable and payable.
- Ensuring strong internal controls and identifying process improvements.
- Reconciling accounts and researching financial discrepancies.
- Assisting with internal and external audits.
- Overseeing year-end inventory rollup and ensuring inventory controls are followed.
- Preparing EFTs, check runs, wire transfers, and bank reconciliations.
- Generating weekly cash reports and updating financial metrics.
- Ensuring transactions comply with GAAP.
The ideal candidate is a skilled accounting professional with a CPA designation (or actively working towards it). You have strong leadership abilities and a passion for continuous improvement, with a proven ability to enhance financial processes and internal controls. A solid understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and budgeting is essential, along with advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience in a leadership role within accounting or finance is preferred, and prior exposure to inventory management, audits, or process optimization is considered an asset. Highly analytical with excellent attention to detail, you bring a collaborative approach and the ability to work cross-functionally to drive efficiency and financial accuracy.
