Duties and responsibilities:
Reporting to the Program Manager and under the direction of the Senior Supervisor, the Employment Coordinator will operate and maintain employment services, including vocational planning and employment placement, for clients of Partners in Employment.
Duties include:
- Establishing and maintaining contact with businesses to inform them about Partners in Employment services
- Developing an individualized action plan focused on vocational planning for each participant
- Serving as a vocational planner for clients experiencing barriers to employment
- Operating both within an office setting and in the community to meet and learn about businesses in the Saskatoon community
- Reviewing individuals’ job interests and abilities and referring to appropriate employment opportunities
- Assisting clients with developing their employability skills
- Researching community resources to identify potential employment opportunities and other support services
- Working as part of a team to successfully place an appropriate number of individuals into competitive employment
- Researching appropriate and individualized employment placements which could include wage subsidies, job coaching, or other supports as required
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services, Human Resources, Marketing, Business, or related discipline or equivalent combination of knowledge and experience
Experience:
- Three to five years of related work experience
- Experience in the customer service or sales field would be an asset
Skills:
- Knowledge of the issues faced by persons with disabilities
- Ability to meet deadlines and projected targets
- Strong customer service and sales skills
- Effective interpersonal, communication, organizational, problem-solving and computer skills
- Knowledge of community resources, the present job market and experience in community job development
- Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with consumers, employers, referral agents, and colleagues
- Access to a personal vehicle and valid driver’s licence
