Tasks
Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring toolsMeasure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materialsFit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardwareSurvey building locations and levelsMaintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments
Support for newcomers and refugees
Offers mentorship programs that pair newcomers and/or refugees with experienced employees Does not require Canadian work experience
Support for youths
Provides awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for youth
