I have partnered with an organization who are seeking an ambitious and detail-oriented Intermediate Interior Designer to join their collaborative design team. This is a full-time salaried position with the option of hybrid work (4 days in office to start ). The ideal candidate will bring seasoned experience in developing projects from concept through to completion, with strong attention to detail, critical thinking skills, and the ability to contribute to a team's to success.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand project and client goals, ensuring design integrity is maintained throughout development
- Develop projects from schematic design through to construction documentation
- Participate in and guide conceptual development, space planning, programming, design development, and materials research
- Prepare presentation packages, technical drawings, details, specifications, and FF&E documents
- Communicate and coordinate effectively with consultants and team members
Qualifications
- Degree from an accredited university program in Architecture or Interior Design
- Minimum of 5+ years post-graduate experience
- Strong conceptual and critical thinking ability
- Excellent design skills with the ability to communicate ideas visually and verbally
- Solid understanding of accessibility codes, life-safety codes, detailing, construction methods, materials, and industry standards
- Strong knowledge of materials and detailing
- Excellent time management skills for both individual and team tasks
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong visual and graphic presentation skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Registration as an Intern Architect or Interior Designer preferred
- NCIDQ certification is considered an asset
- Proficiency in Revit is required . Working experience in SketchUp, Autodesk software, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop & InDesign), and Microsoft Office Suite; knowledge of Revu Bluebeam is an asset
The salary for this position is negotiable based upon experience, and the compensation package includes extended health and dental benefits, 3 weeks paid vacation and additional personal days.
