Responsible for leading and managing the pre‑construction estimating function for residential projects. The role oversees cost control, budget tracking, subcontractor bidding, and provides leadership to the estimating team to ensure accurate, efficient, and competitive project pricing.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain cost control systems for accurate project estimation and reporting
- Lead budgeting workflows—track estimated vs. actual costs throughout the project lifecycle
- Review, approve, and manage purchase orders to align with contracts and budgets
- Prepare and deliver regular cost reports and forecasts to senior management
- Drive process enhancements and implement industry best practices in estimating
- Present and defend cost estimates to stakeholders and senior leadership
Qualifications & Experience
- Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Finance, Accounting, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of estimating or cost-control experience, preferably in residential or homebuilding
- Proven track record of managing budgets, forecasts, and delivering accurate estimates
- Hands-on experience with ERP tools (e.g., Sage 300, Homefront), and proficiency in MS Office—especially Excel
