Job Description:
Reporting to the Manager, Materials, this individual will be responsible for monitoring the movement of materials and equipment for AltaLink and ensuring that the right materials and equipment are delivered in a timely manner to the correct location.
Responsibilities:
- Managing the expediting work process and reporting the status of purchased material and equipment from the time of order confirmation through receipt at the designated delivery point
- Monitor and expedite the submission, review, and approval of technical documents in accordance with project or procurement schedules and contractual requirements
- Coordinate with suppliers, contractors, and internal departments to ensure timely delivery of engineering drawings, specifications, data sheets, and other technical documents
- Review documentation for completeness, formatting, and compliance with AltaLink or project-specific standards before routing for approval
- Maintain and update materials and document tracking systems to reflect current status, deadlines, and outstanding actions
- Liaise with engineering, projects, operations and procurement teams to resolve related issues or delays
- Prepare and deliver regular reports on materials delivery status, document status, outstanding actions, and potential risks to schedule
- Support audits and quality assurance processes by ensuring accurate and complete document records.
- Produce and distribute weekly expediting reports to internal business partners.
- Engaging and coordinating with all departments and stakeholders regarding supplier-related issues within assigned commodities and equipment
- Engaging suppliers to drive cost, lead time, and on time performance.
- Monitoring Supplier's performances KPI's and participate/lead supplier performance improvement initiatives
- Facilitating all aspects of customs clearance including holding the supplier relationship, reconciliation of invoices, and supporting all departments with moving materials into and out of Canada

Requirements
Qualifications:
- University degree or College diploma in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance or other related discipline
- Minimum of 5-7 years' related experience in expediting, procurement or contract management
- Supply chain certification such as CPIM or SCMP is an asset (or working towards)
- Proven ability/experience in the above noted responsibilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills suited to a professional business environment
- Proactive and able to manage multiple competing priorities with tight deadlines
- Ability to work as a team member in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical, organizational, planning and time management skills
- Superior attention to detail and accuracy
- Understanding of supply chain related legal terms, conditions and contracts
- Sound MS Office skills, in particular Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Sound supply chain software skills (e.g., SAP MM, etc.).
- Experience with SharePoint and SAP preferred
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills to interface with team members and stakeholders to promote positive customer outcomes
- Proven track record of good performance and attendance.
