Position summary
Reporting to the Quotation, Lighting Layout & Energy Savings Manager, the Quotation Specialist supports business growth by preparing accurate, competitive, and timely quotations. The role partners closely with Sales, Specification, and internal teams to analyze project requirements and recommend appropriate solutions. The Specialist plays a key role in applying pricing strategies aligned with market conditions and business objectives.
This position contributes directly to converting opportunities into awarded projects and ensuring a strong customer experience. The successful candidate proactively identifies risks and opportunities, supports continuous improvement, and represents Stanpro with professionalism and technical credibility.
Please note that the ideal candidate must be based out of the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).
Your main responsibilities will be the following:
Customer & Commercial Support
- Build and maintain strong business relationships with customers by delivering professional, accurate, and timely responses to quotation requests.
- Analyze customer needs, specifications, and technical documentation to prepare competitive, compliant, and profitable quotations.
- Review bills of materials and recommend appropriate product solutions aligned with project requirements.
- Provide accurate delivery timelines and propose alternative solutions to meet customer expectations and project constraints.
- Travel periodically to visit key contractors and distributors to strengthen relationships, support project development, and generate new business opportunities.
Pricing, Quoting & Project Conversion
- Partner with Sales Representatives and Regional Sales Managers to apply effective pricing strategies, distributor programs, and market-aligned solutions.
- Negotiate pricing, within established guidelines, to support project acquisition and profitability; escalate to the Quotation Manager as required.
- Collaborate with the Specification Team to secure approvals and manage product substitutions when needed.
- Proactively follow up on active quotes and projects using internal tools (e.g., ZJOB) to maximize conversion and project success.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Maintain continuous communication between customers, sales, and internal departments to ensure alignment on pricing, timelines, and technical requirements.
- Work closely with Inside Sales, specification, marketing, and operations teams to deliver consistent and high-quality customer experience.
- Participate in sales meetings, product training, and marketing initiatives to stay aligned with commercial priorities.
Reporting, Data & Market Intelligence
- Maintain accurate and complete records of customer interactions, quotations, and transactions in SAP/LOGS.
- Track and report project pipelines, conversion rates, win/loss ratios, and key customer insights.
- Collect and communicate market intelligence, competitor activity, and unable-to-quote (UTQ) data to support strategic decision-making and continuous improvement.
Operational Excellence
- Contribute to continuous improvement of quoting processes, tools, and documentation.
- Perform other related duties as required to support business objectives and service standards.

Qualifications
- College diploma in business administration, sales, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and strong computer literacy.
- Knowledge of lighting systems and SAP considered assets.
- IES certification is considered an asset.
Compensation
Base salary range: $60,000 – $75,000 per year
Bonus: Performance-based bonus program calculated as a percentage (details shared during the interview process)
