About the Role
We are seeking a Principal, AI Execution to take ownership of established client accounts where executive conviction already exists, and grow them into high-value, multi-year, multi-initiative partnerships.
This is a strategic account leadership role: you will work directly with senior client stakeholders to translate proven outcomes into continued executive confidence and investment, expanding accounts through repeat execution rather than transactional selling. Youll partner closely with Delivery Leads and executive sponsors to sequence and scale build-worthy AI initiatives that deliver measurable business outcomes.
This role is ideal for someone with strong consulting instincts, excellent commercial judgement, and the ability to translate business value into long-term client investment. This role begins after initial executive conviction is established and does not include net-new logo acquisition.
Key Outcomes (What Success Looks Like)
Account Revenue & Growth
- Grow a portfolio of 3–6 established client accounts into a combined $5M–6M in annual revenue through repeat execution and sanctioned expansion
- Maintain strong gross margin performance across your portfolio
- Achieve Net Revenue Retention (NRR) of 110–120%
- Maintain strong gross margin performance across your portfolio
Client Value & Relationship Depth
- Retention of assigned client accounts
- Develop and sustain 2–3 senior executive relationships per account, anchored in trust, clarity, and delivery credibility
- Achieve Client Satisfaction/NPS scores of 50–70
- Lead executive reviews focused on outcomes delivered, decisions made, and next build-worthy initiatives
- Roadmaps are used only when they directly support sequenced execution
Commercial Discipline & Predictability
- Identify 2–4 qualified expansion opportunities per account per quarter
- Ensure proposal quality, contributing to a bid-to-win ratio of 40–60%
Responsibilities
Account Growth & Strategy
- Own the commercial health, growth strategy, and long-term value creation within assigned accounts
- Partner with Delivery Leads to scale proven AI execution patterns and protect delivery focus as accounts grow
- Translate validated business outcomes into sequenced, production-intent AI initiatives with clear ownership and investment commitment
- Identify adjacent, build-worthy opportunities where executive confidence already exists, and expansion reinforces focus rather than fragmentation
Executive Relationship Leadership
- Act as the senior point of contact for client executives (VP to C‑level)
- Lead strategic conversations around modernization, AI adoption, workflow automation, and business outcomes
- Facilitate alignment between client goals and delivery execution
- Protect Delivery Leads from scope drift, premature commitments, or solution overreach
Opportunity Development
- Build and maintain a growth pipeline within each account
- Scope new initiatives collaboratively with Delivery and Solution Architects
- Shape proposals with clear ROI, value articulation, and execution intent
Portfolio Management
- Monitor account health signals—delivery quality, financial performance, sentiment, and risk
- Drive renewal, extension, and follow-on‑ engagement motions
- Ensure collections discipline (30–45 days typical for consulting)
- Partner with internal leadership to calibrate resourcing, capacity, and strategic investment
Qualifications
Experience
- 10–15 years in consulting or execution-led environments where senior client trust and delivery credibility were critical
- Demonstrated success in growing client accounts $2M+ annually
- Experience scaling delivery-backed AI or digital initiatives beyond an initial engagement
- Strong commercial acumen with proven ability to forecast, negotiate, and shape client investment
Skills & Competencies
- Executive presence and ability to engage credibly with VP–C-‑suite stakeholders
- Ability to connect technical opportunities to business outcomes
- Strong understanding of project-based consulting economics (margins, utilization, delivery health)
- Skilled in opportunity shaping, proposal leadership, and value articulation
- Collaborative and non-territorial—able to partner deeply with Delivery leaders
- Demonstrated fluency in modern AI concepts sufficient to engage credibly with executives and delivery leaders, including:
- Understanding where AI meaningfully changes decision quality, throughput, or operating leverage, and where it does not
- Ability to distinguish build-worthy AI applications from tooling experiments, pilots, or hype-driven use cases
- Familiarity with core AI patterns used in enterprise contexts (e.g., decision intelligence, document- and workflow-centric AI, human-in-the-loop systems)
- Comfort discussing AI risk, accountability, and governance at a proportional, business-relevant level
- This role does not require hands-on model development or engineering expertise. It does require the judgment to frame AI initiatives accurately, avoid overpromising, and reinforce execution discipline in client conversations
- Candidates should be able to clearly articulate one AI initiative they were involved in that reached real production use, including what was learned, what failed, and how scope or ambition was deliberately constrained
Compensation & Structure
- Competitive base salary, commensurate with experience
- Performance incentive tied to:
- Year-over-year revenue growth (primary)
- Portfolio NRR
- Client satisfaction
- Margin health
