The Opportunity
Leavitt Industrial Group is looking for a dynamic Safety Coordinator to join our team in Coquitlam, British Columbia. As the Safety Coordinator you will play a vital role in promoting a positive safety culture across all branches by building relationships, ensuring compliance, and supporting safety initiatives. This position focuses on maintaining effective communication, supporting safety committees, assisting with audits and policy development, and overseeing key safety activities to ensure a safe working environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
As the Safety Coordinator your key responsibilities will include:
- Acting as first point of contact for all incidents
- Managing and coordinating WorkSafeBC (WCB) claims, including communication with employees, management, and external stakeholders
- Conducting or assisting in annual safety audits
- Assisting with the review and development of policies and procedures
- Supporting Joint Health and Safety Committee members and Safety Captains in the execution of their tasks and ensuring all locations are complying
- Ensuring monthly safety activities, inspections, training, and other safety requirements are met in all branches
- Ensuring required first aid personnel is maintained within each location
- Conducting site visits to branches to support inspections, safety initiatives, and compliance
- Participating in safety integrations of new acquisitions
Required Skills & Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills, knowledge, and competencies:
- 1 to 3 years of experience in safety administration or coordination
- Proficient in MS Office
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently
- Valid Driver's License, as travel to different branches is required in this position.

The base pay range for this role is: $60,000 to $65,000 per year, depending on experience.
This is a hybrid role based in Coquitlam, British Columbia.
