Job Title: Field Engineer
Reporting directly to the Field Engineering Manager or designate, the Field Engineer will provide on site technical support, working closely with the construction team, contractors and the liaison between the field and the home office teams. The individual will be part of a team to ensuring the engineering design is being properly interpreted and installed at site.
The Field Engineer will collaborate closely with contractors, interpret drawings and specifications for field crews, and provide inputs into detailed work plans and packages. Additionally, duties may include managing material orders and deliveries and working closely with the completions and turnover teams.
Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
Field Coordination & Communication
Provide field engineering support, working closely with the field engineering team, site construction team, contractors, and acting as liaison with home office teams.
Conduct and participate in construction and engineering meetings.
Collaborate with contractors and Engineer of Record (EOR) to resolve technical issues.
Technical Review & Documentation
Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and survey data.
Draft and issue Requests for Information (RFIs).
Support development of redlines and as-built documentation.
Provide input into daily reports.
Planning & Project Controls
Provide input for forecasting, planning, and scheduling.
Assist with quantity tracking, cost control, and change order documentation.
Monitor and report on construction progress, identifying risks and delays.

Education / Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
- P.Eng registration with EGBC is preferred
Experience / Skills
Minimum of 2-4 years mining or heavy construction experience
Proficient in use of Microsoft Excel and Word
Collaborative team player with an exceptionally proactive mindset
Strong analytical, problem-solving skills and comfortable making recommendations
Capability to work in a self-directed manner and possess good time management skills
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to support reporting, and communication between various stakeholders
Highly self-motivated and ability to work with minimal guidance
Must be able to work a rotational schedule in a remote mining camp
Work Location & Conditions
This is a site-based camp job at Eskay Creek Mine site. This position involves working at a remote mine site on a 15 days on/13 days off rotation.
The Eskay Creek Project is located within the Coast Mountains of Northwestern British Columbia and Tahltan Territory. Ground transportation will be provided from local communities to the Eskay Creek Site facilities. For those applicants located elsewhere in western Canada, flight transportation from major urban centers will be provided to the Terrace airport, from which shuttles will provide transportation to the Eskay Creek Camp facilities. Travel time and expenses are subject to Skeena’s Travel Policy.
There will be exposure to extreme temperatures in all seasons including working outdoors in snow, mud, ice, and water conditions, walking to and from different locations on uneven ground, prolonged periods of standing and physically handling/lifting/moving heavy objects.

Compensation
The expected salary range for this position is CA$100,000-$150,000, in line with the competitive job market for such roles carried out in British Columbia. Salary ranges are guidelines and any job offer received by a candidate will be determined on a number of factors such as relevant education, training, and/or experience.
