The successful candidate will have the following:
Educational & Experience Requirements:
- Diploma or degree in Geotechnical EngineeringTechnology, Civil EngineeringTechnology, or a related field.
- Previousexperience in materials testing and inspection is preferred.
- Vibration monitoring and site conditionsurvey experience is an asset
- Knowledge of relevant testing methods and procedures, including ASTM and CSA standards
Main Duties:
The successful candidate will be able todemonstrateexperience in the following:
- Collect samples and perform laboratoryand field testing of various construction materials, such as concrete, asphalt, soils, aggregates, etc., todeterminematerial properties and quality.
- Compaction testing of soil, aggregates, and asphalt concrete;
- Testing of fresh concrete/grout/mortar and casting of laboratory specimens;
- Conduct inspections and assessments of construction sites, documentfindingsand provide detailed reports on test results, including analysis and recommendations.
- Prepare detailed andaccuratefield reports for use by project managers and engineers.
- Maintain effective communication with project teams, providing regular updates on field activities and findings.
- Ensure compliance with relevant codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Maintain and calibrate testing equipment, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
- Collaborate with the project team to troubleshoot and resolve any materials-related issues.
- Ability and willingness to work under varied weather conditions.
- Capability to walk and engage in fieldwork for extended periods across occasionally challenging terrain, as well as the ability to transport equipment and supplies weighing up to 40 pounds.
- Identify and mitigate potential hazards in the field, promoting a safe working environment.
- Adhere to health and safety protocols, promoting a safe working environment.
- Adhering to all company policies.
Position:
- 37.5 hours/week (varies with client workload)
- Must havevaliddrivers license and access to a reliable vehicle.
- This role may require travel and occasional work at remote locations.
Pay Range:$46,800.00 - $58,500.00CAD annually
In alignment with Ontarios Employment Standards Act and paytransparency requirements, GEMTEC includes the expected compensation range in publicly advertised job postings for roles based in Ontario. This range reflects what GEMTECreasonably anticipatespaying for this position. Final compensation will be based on the successful candidates education, experience, skills, internal pay equity, specific Ontario location, or other factors unrelated to Ontarioprotected grounds.
