Job Responsibilities
Reporting to the Vice President The Manager, Client Accounting Investment Properties, provides direction and support to the Property Accounting team. The primary responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to; managing and ensuring clients’ and organizational needs are met, maintaining best practices and standard operating procedures and training of staff. The Manager must be flexible and adaptable to meet changing needs and workplace challenges.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate financial deliverables on premium/blue chip portfolios
- Maintain day to day accounting of a Blue-Chip portfolio
- Review teams work of deliverables to clients
- Manages clients' requests
- Ensure the IP Property Accounting team follows policy, procedure, and best practices
- Monitor team performance and report on metrics to the Controller, IP
- Identify and assist in building SOP's and best practices with the Controller, IP
- Identify other areas of support and requirements
- Maintain SOPs, develop templates for standard processes, including but not limited to budgets, monthly cam & tax recoveries, vacancy cost adjustments, other process forms
- Provide back-up support where required to property accountants and controller
- Coordinate financial and budget deadlines to ensure clients' needs are met
- Coordinate monthly priority list and deadlines for the team
- Oversee and ensure the transition of lost properties is accurate and completed in a timely manner
- Oversee and ensure new properties set up and onboarded appropriately with required documentation
- Manage audit requests including third party, RECA and RECBC
- Assists controller to ensure all tax filings are accurate and files on time
- Monthly review of bank reconciliations for overdue outstanding items
- Monthly review of control accounts to subledgers

- Perform or assist with any operations as required to maintain workflow and to meet schedules. Notify supervision of unusual equipment or operating problems and the need for additional material and supplies.
- May participate in any variety of meetings and work groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems and maintain specified level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements, policies, and regulatory guidelines.
- Ensure all safety precautions are followed while performing the work.
- Follow all policies and Standard Operating Procedures as instructed by Management.
- Perform any range of special projects, tasks and other related duties as assigned.
- Provides direction and support to IP Property Accountant team, ensuring that the team is following policies, procedures, accounting principles and best practices while delivering excellent customer service to achieve a certain goal.
Education & Experience
- Business degree or equivalent. Working towards an accounting designation is an asset.
- Ethical and accountable with a strong 'can-do' attitude.
- Expert-level analytical and financial modeling skills.
- Excellent time management and ability to multitask to meet constant deadlines.
- Excellence in customer service, demonstrated ability to meet and exceed customer needs.

- Strong communication skills to be able to clearly deliver messages and instructions to team members.
- Excellent computer skills. Yardi Voyager, Excel, Microsoft office suite, Adobe.

Physical Requirements/Working Environment
