Position Description
As part of the People & Culture (HR) team, the People & Culture Summer Student will report directly to the People & Culture Lead and will work closely with employees at all levels of the organization supporting the day-to-day administration of HR programs, projects and initiatives.
Key Accountabilities
- Employee Engagement: Coordinate and execute employee engagement programs and activities to enhance workplace culture.
- Internal Communications: Support internal communications initiatives, including Monthly News Round-Ups and Quick Updates.
- Committee Support: Assist with committee operations, such as Joint Health & Safety Committee monthly inspections/ first aid kit checks, taking meeting minutes, and follow through action plan execution.
- Talent Lifecycle: Contribute to the end-to-end recruitment and onboarding/offboarding process, ensuring a seamless and positive candidate/ staff experience.
- Inquiry Management: Monitor the HR General inbox, providing prompt and accurate responses to employee/support personnel inquiries to maintain high service standards.
- Process Documentation: Update People & Culture Admin manual for business continuity purposes.
- Project Assistance: Provide key support for the implementation and rollout of People & Culture strategic projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the People & Culture team.

Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Human Resources Management field
- Desire to advance your career in Human Resources field with demonstrated ability to deliver, to engage others and to demonstrate strong motivation toward the work
- Understanding of HR principles and practices and relevant Canadian employment laws including the ESA, Human Rights legislation and the OHSA
- Strength in crafting compelling content for internal communications and employer branding initiatives
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Legal working eligibility in Canada
