The Sport Services Supervisor position takes on a leadership role in Kelowna’s sports sector by connecting with the community, enhancing event planning, strengthening relationships with third-party city facility operators, and creating new sport programs. Key responsibilities include facilitating sports leagues and events, capacity building in partner organizations, understanding sport sector trends and priorities, liaising with facility operators and local sport organizations, advancing sport-for-life initiatives, and progressing the Kelowna Community Sport Plan. This position advances an inclusive, vibrant, and sustainable local sport sector across the city.
The ideal candidate will be a passionate and energetic leader with a degree in Recreation Administration, Event Management or equivalent leadership training plus five years’ experience in the Recreation or Event industry. Significant experience and expertise in successfully managing, promoting and overseeing sport events; strong communication skills that support consensus building and conflict resolution; and demonstrated abilities to multitask and meet deadlines by effectively leading and managing people, projects and initiatives.
