Health and Wellness Manager (Human Resources)

Bring your expertise in corporate wellness, disability management, accommodations and people leadership to a role that makes a real difference. As the Health and Wellness Manager, you’ll shape and deliver the City’s employee wellness, disability management and accommodation programs that align with the City’s goals and support a healthy, productive workforce. This position provides leadership and guidance in all areas of disability management (short-term sick leave, long-term disability, and WorkSafe claims) as well as workplace accommodations, return-to-work processes, and champion impactful wellness initiatives. Leading a team of Health and Wellness Advisors and related staff, you’ll elevate service delivery, strengthen program outcomes, and ensure compliance with applicable legislation, policies, collective agreements, and privacy requirements.
Qualifications
This position requires a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Occupational Health, or Business Administration (or a related field), plus 2 to 3 years of supervisory experience in a unionized environment. A deep expertise in disability case management (STD, LTD, and WorkSafe BC claims), workplace accommodations, and return-to-work planning, along with strong working knowledge of Human Rights/duty to accommodate, privacy, employment law, and collective agreements is required. This role requires someone who is an inclusive leader and trusted advisor, can communicate with empathy, use data and sound judgment to solve complex issues, and confidently lead projects and continuous improvement.
