We are currently seeking a reliable and experienced Excavator Operator to join our team. This position is ideal for someone with a passion for operating heavy equipment and contributing to the safe and efficient progress of construction projects.
Job Responsibilities
- Operate excavators and other heavy equipment to perform precise digging, trenching, and material placement
- Excavate, load, and unload materials such as rocks, soil, and debris
- Perform basic equipment inspections and notify foreman of any necessary repairs, upgrades, or replacements
- Maintain a clean and organized job site
- Assist crew members with site duties when not operating machinery
- Follow all company and provincial safety regulations and procedures
- Communicate clearly with site supervisors and team members to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and safely
Job Requirements
Language: English
Education: Diploma or apprentice training of 6 months to 2 years
Experience:
- Prior experience operating excavators or similar heavy equipment is required
- Experience working on commercial or residential construction sites preferred
- Mid-rise demolition experience is an asset
- Safety certifications such as WHMIS, Fall Protection, and First Aid are considered assets
- Physically capable of working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Own Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): hard hat, steel-toed boots, and reflective vest is an asset
- Strong visual acuity (with or without corrective lenses)
- Able to remain focused and make sound decisions under pressure
- Strong attention to detail and situational awareness
- Able to follow instructions and contribute positively to a team environment
- Effective communicator with a proactive attitude
