Terms of Employment – Full-time (30 hours per week).
Salary: from $37 to $40 per hour (based on experience)
Address of Work: 428 Great Northern Way, Vancouver, BC.
- Training might take place at different gyms in the Metro Vancouver Area.
- Travel to competitive events in other Canadian provinces, USA as required.

Employment Requirements:
- Education and Qualifications: at least a vocational diploma or certificate, preferably in sports education, preferably in the field of gymnastics. Any education in the field of childhood education is a plus.
- Work Experience: Preferably gymnastics background 10+ years (competing at the international level), and at least 3 years of experience in gymnastics coaching encompassing international-level competitions, training camps, and related activities.
- Technical skills: Ability to show the correct technique of the elements of the body and the apparatus skills. Ability to perform with the students on the shows and galas.
- Soft skills: Ability to work patiently and effectively with children and youth; strong communication and motivational skills; creates a positive and supportive training environment.
Job Description:
- Coach gymnasts registered with Planet Rhythmics.
- Choreograph competitive routines of the gymnasts.
- Organize the competitive season training, programs, schedules, and goals.
- Create strategies for competition, design choreographies, and guide gymnasts during competition events.
- Assess and review the performance of gymnasts and adjust training programs accordingly.
- Teach ballet and conditioning routines to gymnasts during regular training sessions.
- Prepare routines for two major gymnastics shows per year: Winter and Summer concerts.
- Find, choose, and edit special music pieces for the performance routines.
- Assist in organizing training camps (spring and summer camps)
- Prepare gymnasts mentally for competitions.
- Learn the Code of Points of the International Gymnastics Federation to provide knowledge in creating and mastering competitive routines.
- Accompany competitive gymnasts to competitions at various destinations, supervise them, prepare for competition and provide guidance and support before, during and after performances.
- Complete all required courses for the British Columbia Rhythmic Sportive Gymnastics Federation (BCRSGF) to achieve the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) requirements.
- Demonstrate good ethics in communication with gymnasts, their parents, and colleagues.
Other Responsibilities:
- Set up the rental gyms before the training sessions.
- Clean up the rental gyms after the training sessions.
