We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will support the head chef in food preparation, kitchen operations, and team management to ensure the delivery of high-quality dishes and excellent customer service. Wage: $37.25 hourly for 35-40 hours per week

Qualification/Skills requirements
Education: Completion of Secondary School and cook trade certificate
Experience: Minimum of 5 years cooking experience in Chinese Xi’an cuisine
Job Duties:
- Prepare and cook complete meals or specialty foods of China- Xi’an and other Chinese special culinary, such as pastries, sauces, soups, salads, vegetables and meat, poultry and fish dishes, and create decorative food displays for special events such as banquets
- Maintain records of food costs, consumption, sales and inventory
- Demonstrate new cooking techniques and new equipment to cooking staff
- Create new recipes
- Instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of food
- Supervise cooks and other kitchen staff
- Requisition food and kitchen supplies
- Estimate food requirements and food and labour costs
- Plan menus and ensure food meets quality standards
- Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances
- Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food
- Cut poultry into parts; Shape, lace and tie roasts, other meats, poultry and seafood
- Prepare special displays of meats, poultry and fish products
