Job Description:
Colour of Painting Ltd. is a commercial painting contractor specializing in residential and commercial construction projects across the Greater Toronto Area. The company performs painting, coatings, wallcoverings, and finishing work as a specialty trade contractor working with general contractors and construction managers. We are seeking a Construction Project Manager to coordinate painting and finishing scopes across multiple active construction projects. The role focuses on subcontractor coordination, scheduling, labour planning, and communication with project stakeholders to support efficient project delivery.
Job duties:
- Coordinate tender preparation, including pricing proposals and scope clarification with internal teams and project stakeholders.
- Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements
- Coordinate painting and finishing activities across multiple residential construction projects.
- Plan daily project activities, including scheduling and labour allocation.
- Coordinate subcontractor crews and internal field staff across project sites.
- Communicate with general contractors, construction managers, and site representatives.
- Monitor project schedules, milestones, and site progress.
- Review scope changes and assist with preparation of change order pricing.
- Prepare progress reports and provide operational updates to company ownership and project stakeholders
- Prepare and submit progress claims and assist with project invoicing.
- Monitor project budgets and track project costs.
- Read blueprint, specifications and drawings
- Identify project risks and coordinate corrective actions when required.
- Maintain project documentation and coordinate project close-out activities.

Skills requirements:
Required education:
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, project management, business administration, or a related field
Required work experience and skills:
- Minimum 5 years of experience coordinating construction or specialty trade projects within active construction environments.
- Experience coordinating subcontractor crews and managing construction project schedules.
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple ongoing projects and resolve on-site issues when needed.
Preferred assets:
- Professional project management certification considered an asset (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2).
- Experience working with specialty trade contractors such as painting or finishing contractors considered an asset.
