Are you organized, detail-oriented, and enjoy working behind the scenes to keep things running smoothly? The City of Burnaby is seeking an auxiliary clerical professional to support the processing of police reports for insurance and legal requests. In this role, you’ll review and fulfill information requests, ensure compliance with legislation, manage records and payments, and support day-to-day administrative operations. You’ll also connect with internal teams, external agencies, and the public to provide accurate and timely information. Performs related work as required.
The ideal candidate will have completed Grade 12 including or supplemented by commercial courses, plus sound related experience preferably in a police department, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Sound knowledge of modern office methods and procedures, record keeping, and of computer operations as they relate to the work. Ability to deal effectively with internal and external contacts and to apply sound judgement in providing assistance and explaining specific rules, regulations and procedures; to prepare and maintain a variety of files, permits, forms, receipts, records, statistics manually related or using a computer terminal and to compose routine correspondence on matters related to the work. Successful applicants will be required to obtain and maintain an Enhanced RCMP Security Clearance.
Pay Rate:
$29.48 per hour + 12% in lieu of benefits (2024 Rates)
$31.58 per hour + 12% in lieu of benefits (2026 Rates)
Location: Burnaby RCMP Detachment
Hours of work: This is an auxiliary position, hours and shifts are based on operational requirements and do not provide guaranteed hours of work. Typical shifts will be between the hours of 730 AM-415 PM, Monday to Friday.
